STATEMENT FROM LRANY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
RE: GOVERNOR CUOMO’S INFRASTRUCTURE ANNOUNCEMENT AT ABNY LUNCHEON
ALBANY – Tom Stebbins, Executive Director of the Lawsuit Reform Alliance of New York issued the following statement in response to Governor Andrew Cuomo’s remarks at the Association for Better New York luncheon on Wednesday, January 4th:
“As Governor Cuomo begins another year with an emphasis on infrastructure, he should listen to the more than 75 organizations that make up the Scaffold Law Reform Coalition and focus his ambitions on fixing the greatest impediment to safe, efficient, and affordable construction in New York.
If Governor Cuomo wants New York to stay ahead and win the race, then it is time to tear down the expensive and dangerous Scaffold Law. We’re the only state to have a law like it, and it is a symbol of exactly why New York is playing catch-up with the rest of the world.”
The Lawsuit Reform Alliance of New York (LRANY) is a nonpartisan not-for-profit association of businesses, professionals, healthcare providers, membership organizations, taxpayers, and concerned citizens committed to changing New York’s legal system to help create jobs and energize our economy.
